Weekends Change

This is being written late on Saturday afternoon. Life is not the same for me as it had been in many other states of life in which I have lived. However, it is true that Saturday afternoon still has a certain feeling as regards things being weekend things.

I am not going to watch a sybling play youth sports — but it is still a weekend.

I am not going to see a niece or nephew play youth sports — but it is still a weekend.

I am not watching college sports — but it is still a weekend.

I am not working a regular nine-to-five or anything like it which goes Monday to Friday — but it is still a weekend.

I am not paid on Friday — but it is still a weekend.

However, I almost never miss Mass on Sunday. But the Saturday feeling must come from somewhere else I think. I still feel a bit of some mysterious ease and air in all this time.

Weariness

Perhaps one day I will write a real essay on weariness in a blog post. This is not that post. I am just weary.

It is a foggy day in south Louisiana and I am weary. I had a headache for a long time yesterday and I am weary. I heard som bad news from several people and I am weary. I have had a few minor health problems in the last few weeks and I am weary. I see a lot of things getting worse in a world that is already amazingly bad in my view — and I am weary.

In addition, I am a fairly romantic man for the twenty-first century West, combined with being a man fairly polygamous in both ideas and experiences (without ever having been married to two women) for the time and place in which I live and I am a fairly nostalgic man. While my life, sexual ideology and relationships have very little in common with that which shows from the outside in the life of either Julio Iglesias or Willie Nelson there are resonances in the song’s lyrics especially that come to a focus on days when I am weary. If I could sing well I would sing it with different nuances and shades than either of their interpretations. I say that although I respect and enjoy both of them as artists and their music is something I like well. Here, probably illegally, are the lyrics to their song in my heart and head today. If you are reading this and you happen to be one of the women I would be singing this to if I could sing then be sure that Nobody blurs into a composite in my mind — I miss each person with a separate, unique and unequal pain. Here it is:

To all the girls I’ve loved before
Who travelled in and out my door
I’m glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the girls I’ve loved before

To all the girls I once caressed
And may I say I’ve held the best
For helping me to grow
I owe a lot I know
To all the girls I’ve loved before

The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To all the girls who shared my life
Who now are someone else’s wives
I’m glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the girls I’ve loved before

To all the girls who cared for me
Who filled my nights with ecstasy
They live within my heart
I’ll always be a part
Of all the girls I’ve loved before

The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To all the girls we’ve loved before
Who travelled in and out our doors
We’re glad they came along
We dedicate this song
To all the girls we’ve loved before

To all the girls we’ve loved before
Who travelled in and out our doors
We’re glad they came along
We dedicate this song
To all the girls we’ve loved before

The Lara Logan Sexual Assault

I still have not been able to confirm that the “sustained and brutal sexual assault” of Lara Logan was a gang rape meaning it had involved multiple men achieving penetration or even a rape meaning it involved at least one man achieving penetration. Clearly the health risks alone are much greater if it was a rape and she will be a longer time without knowing the result of her horror. This happened on February 11, 2011 and involved a mob of 200 people who also beat her and who separated her from her security. It is aid she was later rescued by a group of Egyptian women and soldiers and that CBS willl not be issuing more detailed reports.

I have often followed Ms. Logan’s war reportage and it seems clear that she is a very exotic physical type in the world. a very womanly figure, blond and fair-skinned and in every way an exceptional target and symbol for certain  kinds of violence. One of the problems with living in a world where thought has almost disappeared is the problem of things never being discussed rationally, Lara Logan was   very probably a victim of racism and racial hatred as well as sexual violence.

There are a few diffrent reasons why so few redheads and blondes exist in the world. One set of reasons I do not condemn, disparage or   criticize. That first set of reasons is that their have always been a lot of dark-haired people and people prefer to marry and breed into their small groups and secondly if most dark haired people interbreed with blonds and redheads they will not produce any blonde or redheaded children — only a tiny minority of the total number of dark haired people (whites with dark hair mostly) will produce any such offspring. Whatever physical functions the assailants may have performed they were not socially geared to producing more people who looked like Lara in Egypt. Probably she would have been killed eventually. Blonde and redhead children which do occur in most of the world or often eaten as food and this is coded as their being “little angels” which the community returns to heaven (which exists in many religions and religious contexts), or they are reared as prostitutes or otherwise subjected to horrors beyond imagining. This is often done in a context where people admit they are more beautiful and that is why they must not be allowed to survive and change the social dynamic. While white racism is often condemned it is probably essential to the survival of white families and also to much of human achievement. Note that while I am a White Supremacist I condemn White Racism often.

Lara is an imperfect person and CBS’s policy is probably wrong in hundreds of ways in how they manage their people — I  do not know . But it would still be a beautiful sight to me to see some red and blonde bearded men coming ashore in Egypt finding those boys who assaulted her and lynching a few, flogging a few to death and maybe skinning the leaders alive. When whites did that sort of thing more maybe they could sleep more easily than I do worrying about my traveling blonde female relatives. Hatred is better than “love and tolerance” when they are not those things at all but just lies and crap. Civilization can be built and should be built,  but where it is going down in flames then real white savagery must be considered. I am by conviction a civilized White Supremacist who believes all humans are capable of good and evil and capable of real civilization together. I do not believe every society needs to be White Supremacist. I believe in flogging and the death penalty as essential to real civilization but not in orgies of violence. But this is not a civilized age. Because we do not have civilization,  in this age it is the blood eagle, the roasted hand-hung man and the horse-dragged man that perhaps darker peoples should think of first when they see my white-skinned and fair-haired sisters both literal and extended. I am ashamed that I cannot kill any of these men who attacked Lara. I am not proud nor do I have any desire to rationalize my shameful weakness and apathy.

The Rape of Lara Logan

I am not writing about it yet but I am noting the rape of Lara Logan in Cairo. The blonde CBS correspondent was reported to have been gang-raped in the time of the protests and to be recovering. I will write more about this later if I am around to do so.

I am aware of many an issue, as are we all…

They are debating the budget now. We do not have a metal standard. We do not balance our budgets. We are the world’s largest debtor nation.

There are programs being cut for the poor and for the defense establishment. There are investments being cut but we are still completely out of control. Ironicaly, the medical establishment is in my opinion responsible for many of the worst problems in the United States and I have voted for Dr. Charles Boustany every time he has run when I was around to vote largely because he is a physician. Mycorrespondence with him about the budget has been  limited to an issue many would find hard to justify in these times. But I do not find it so…

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D.
Representative Dr. Boustany,
Thank you for your timely response of quality. Because in my Original e-mail I had indicated that I was passing on copies of the correspondence I will take the liberty of doing the same thing with your response.
Best wishes in your efforts,
FWSIII
Dear Frank:

Thank you for contacting me regarding President Obama’s proposed Fiscal Year 2012 budget for NASA.  It is good to hear from you.

There is no question that NASA and the breakthroughs that have occurred within have made America a leader in science and technology.  As a heart surgeon, I have personally experienced the real world value of equipment such as specialized monitors, x-rays and other medical devices, the basics of which were developed from the hard work and innovation of NASA employees.  While there will always be a place for the government’s role in creating and developing innovative technology that is far too capital intensive and risky for the private sector, there is also a time and place to hand over the hard work of our government scientists and allow the private sector to make the leaps and bounds that have proven true in the past.

Right now our country is facing a budget deficit that has spun out of control in the last few years and tough choices are ahead of us.  It’s important to note that the President’s budget is only a blueprint and represents his spending priorities.  Congress will ultimately decide funding levels for specific programs through the legislative process.  I appreciate your input.  Be assured I’ll remember your strong support for NASA as I discuss the FY12 budget with House leaders and as Congress considers any related legislation.

Again, thank you for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D.
Member of Congress

I am not including my original missive here, but much of its substance is suggested in his response.

Egypt

On the  February 11,  anniversary of the deposing of the Shah of Iran. The military of Egypt, whose leaders were trained by the now deposed Soviet Union, have taken over the control of their country’s Government. What are they really committed to? They have said very little.

If I were crafting a constitution to really create a great Egypt I think the military would play an important role and so would the masses. Perhaps a bicameral legislature in which proportional voting and majoritarian voting divided the seats in the lower house would represent the masses well. An upper house in which half the seats were reserved for Institutional leaders such as Presidents of Universities, retired General officers, The Coptic Patriarch of Alexandria, a Council of Viziers religious and secular chosen by an appointment council and perhaps a constitutional Monarch and a prime minister who were sort of presidentialy outside the legislature and sot of in the legislature would represent the few and the one well. However, all of that is exactly the kind of thing that so far shows no sign of happening.  So far there is a more integrated and articulate mob than before and there is the military. That is far less than a great Egypt would require.

The New Model Constitution and Other Things

I have been spending most of the limited time that I have been spending on this blog recently working on the New Model Constitution of the United States. It is  not an obsession it is just a great deal of work. I have also been  quite preoccupied with the cold weather and its attendant duties, the news coverage of the Egyptian Uprising and two dental appointments.  So I hope to be coming to a point where I can do more normal blog posts soon.

For those interested in seeing the Model Constitution, here it is.

Successful Appointment Deserves Another…

I had a good dental appointment yesterday and am scheduled to have a damaged filling fixed there today at noon as well.

Dentist Appointment tomorrow at noon

I don’t have dental insurance but I do have a dental appointment with a dentist in Lafayette tomorrow at noon. It is for a problem that is not yet causing me much pain. The office is near a high school where I used to teach and which his daughter attended. His initials are CB.He has treated me before. In the world of things I worry about dental care is certainly one and yet he and his office have at times made it possible for me to worry less than I would have otherwise. My brother has an appointment with him earlier in the day tomorrow.  I hope to come home having had a good result.
